Manchester University's 24th annual Student Research Symposium on April 28 will feature keynote speaker senior Madison Brown and her presentation, "Toward the Synthesis of Potential Antiviral Carbocyclic Nucleosides." Brown is senior biology-chemistry major from Economy, Ind. Her research, alongside Kyle Watson, assistant professor of chemistry, is focused on the beginning steps of creating a small library of potential antiviral drugs that could be used to treat the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

"The community here is unlike anything else I've ever experienced. Growing up, I moved a lot. I've been in a lot of different towns and a lot of different cultures and, here at MU, it's just different in a way I can't describe. The support system that the institution sets up for you is unreal. The people they place in your life care about you not only as a student or as an athlete but as a person."

Three Manchester University students were selected for the 2022 College Band Director's National Association Intercollegiate Band. They are senior music performance major Jennifer Wagner (flute), junior music education major Alexis Crawford (French horn) and junior music performance major Mason Kniola (tuba). The event takes place April 7-9 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.

At Manchester University, fourth-year pharmacy student Judy Truong will complete a drug information residency at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

For the third time in a row, Manchester University Esports Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team brought home the Great Lakes Esports Conference championship. Manchester Smash travelled to Game Arena in Hilliard, Ohio, as the #2 seed for the GLEC Playoff tournament. They beat Trine and the University of Saint Francis before facing #1 seed Valparaiso in the finals on Saturday, April 2. 2022.
