Raymond Park, Mt. Vernon take top spots at 2024 MU Science Olympiad Invitational

North Manchester, IN (01/22/2024) — Students from 13 high schools and middle schools across Indiana joined a bustling Manchester University campus for the 2024 MU Science Olympiad Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 20, in North Manchester.

Students participated in more than 30 events and competitions, with activities that included codebreaking, identifying fossils and constructing roller coasters and towers.

Raymond Park Thunder of Raymond Park Middle School (Indianapolis) won the middle school division. Raymond Park Lightning took second place overall, with the Manchester Black team of Manchester Junior-Senior High School (North Manchester) finishing third overall. In the high school division, Mt. Vernon Gold of Mt. Vernon High School (Mt. Vernon) finished first, with North Central Black of North Central High School (Indianapolis) finishing second and Manchester Black of Manchester Junior-Senior High School (North Manchester) finishing third.

Manchester University extends their congratulations to all of Saturday's participants and wishes them the best of luck in future competitions, as they move on to regional, state and national competitions.
