Manchester University to host Regional Student Environmental Conference

North Manchester, IN (07/16/2026) — Manchester University will host the inaugural Regional Student Environmental Conference on Monday, Sept. 28, organized by Earth Charter Indiana and Manchester's Center for Environmental Resilience and Social Engagement.

This event will connect youth and local experts for environmental education, stewardship, and action. The conference will begin at 9 a.m. with a welcome session, followed by morning sessions led by high school and college students who will share success stories about implementing environmental initiatives in their communities.

The day will continue with a plenary session by entomologists and educators Kristie Reddick and Jess Honaker, also known as "The Bug Chicks." This event, as part of Manchester University's Values, Ideas and the Arts (VIA) series, is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided for all attendees thanks to generous sponsors. In the evening, The Bug Chicks will host a professional development workshop for educators.

The afternoon will have sessions focused on taking action, led by local experts and organizations.
