Manchester teams compete in Science Olympiad

North Manchester, IN (01/23/2023) — The 2023 Manchester University Science Olympiad Invitational Saturday, Jan. 21 in North Manchester drew about 300 students, their coaches, and their parents frm all over Indiana to attend the day of science competition.

Students participated in more than 30 events and competitions, with activities that included codebreaking, identifying rocks and minerals, and constructing machines such as roller coasters and projectile launchers.

Raymond Park Thunder of Raymond Park Middle School (Indianapolis) won the middle school division. Northridge Green of Northridge Middle School (Middlebury) took second place overall, with the Manchester Black team of Manchester Junior-Senior High School (North Manchester) finishing third overall.

Three teams competed from Manchester Community Schools.

In the high school division, Northridge Green of Northridge High School (Middlebury) finished first, with Bloomington South High School-White and Bloomington South High School-Purple (Bloomington) taking second and third place.

Manchester University extends its congratulations to all of Saturday's participants and wishes them the best of luck in future competitions, as they move on to regional, and hopefully, state and national competitions.
