"From a very young age, I have loved to listen to people and try to help them through things they may be going through. I decided sometime last year that that is what I wanted to major in and do for the rest of my life. I want to help people," said in the "My Manchester Story" profile.

"The community here is unlike anything else I've ever experienced. Growing up, I moved a lot. I've been in a lot of different towns and a lot of different cultures and, here at MU, it's just different in a way I can't describe. The support system that the institution sets up for you is unreal. The people they place in your life care about you not only as a student or as an athlete but as a person."

"Once I came for my tour, I knew immediately that it felt like home. I could sense that the community was strong here and I would fit in. I knew I wanted to be part of the community here on campus."

Alexa Uribe's journey as a first-generation Manchester University student has been an adventure with some ups and downs, but she never quit. "I was made for more," Uribe says.

The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Manchester University is for those who already have a bachelor's degree in another field and would like to pursue a career in nursing. Students can earn their ABSN in just 16 months. Several students are featured in a video about the program.

Deion Gilmore has a big dream: Working for the NFL. "Never be afraid to go above and beyond your expectations. You are always going to have competition in sports and in life. Doing more than what is expected of you will create more opportunities in the future."
