Manchester University to collect community donations for annual U Can Crush Hunger challenge

North Manchester, IN (10/18/2023) — Manchester University will be collecting donations for U Can Crush Hunger 2023 starting Nov. 3.

U Can Crush Hunger is an annual friendly competition hosted by Community Harvest Food Bank that challenges area colleges and universities to collect the most food and funds. The collective goal is 125,000 pounds. Manchester's participation will help stock the campus pantry and provide meals to those in our region experiencing food insecurity.

While first-year Manchester students will be collecting items in the North Manchester community on Friday, Nov. 3, those outside of North Manchester can make monetary donations here.

Items can also be dropped off in the Lockie and Augustus Chinworth Center, Room 104, at the North Manchester campus any time before Nov. 10.

Great items to donate include pasta, rice, beans, microwavable soup, macaroni and cheese, tuna, crackers, beverages, canned vegetables and fruits, chips, sweets, cookies, mini muffins, cereal, oatmeal, granola bars, toilet paper, can openers, dish soap, trash bags, bath soap/body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, menstrual products, and dishware.
