Dean W. Thomas Smith inducted into Saint Louis University School of Law Hall of Fame
North Manchester, IN (03/05/2024) — W. Thomas Smith, dean of health sciences and pharmacy at Manchester University Fort Wayne, was inducted into the 2024 Hall of Fame at his alma mater, Saint Louis University School of Law, on Feb. 24.
Induction into the Order of the Fleur de Lis Hall of Fame is the highest honor from Saint Louis University School of Law. Members are chosen based on professional successes and significant contributions to the community.
Smith graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1994, then from Saint Louis University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree and certificate in health law in 2005. He joined Manchester University's College of Pharmacy, Natural and Health Sciences in 2015, leading assessment and accreditation efforts for two years before his appointment as dean.
He is an author, speaker and leader in areas such as pharmacy law and legal and cultural issues involving disabled people. Smith is active in several professional organizations including the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and the American Bar Association (ABA). He serves as the chair of AACP's Council of Deans and sits on AACP's Board of Directors, and is an at-large member of the leadership council of the Health Law Section of the ABA.
